To cast a spell, you need to prepare ingredients by using different alchemic apparatus.
They are "cutting", "grinding", "mixing" and "normal" from left to right in the spell room.
Also you can controll the process temperature when you add ingredients into the beaker.
The 3 levels of temperature are: "room temperature", "heating (by burner)" and "cool (by condenser)".
Each ingredient has different or multiple effects.
The game manual uses circle chart to show different effects, it's quite ambiguous however.
By checking the memory, the effects could be transferred into exact numbers.

To make a spell effective, you need high value of POWER, DIRECTOR and AFFECTOR.
However, if sum of POWER value go up to 40 ~ 50, the beaker will explode!
There is no limitation to DIRECTOR and AFFECTOR, I believe 50 to each is quite enough.
Please remember you need high POWER and DIRECTOR but negative AFFECTOR to cure disease.

Tius x7 (grinding, only burner ON)
-> POWER 21, VILLAGE 70, DISEASE -35
-> POWER 0, UPRISING 12, YEOMANRY 48
-> POWER 12, INDUSTRIAL 88, UPRISING -20, POPULATION 32
